Employers and graduates aim to find out if they can play on the same team in a match-making event at Sheffield United’s Bramall Lane ground.
Some 14 graduates, all seeking work, will pitch to a group of employers seeking to boost their firms.
But there is no transfer fee - the event is part EU-funded, and includes free mentoring, training and other benefits.
It is part of the Graduate Accelerator Programme, which kicked off in Doncaster and is now spreading across South Yorkshire.
Three Rotherham “Meet the Graduates” events resulted in 90 per cent of young people finding jobs.
The Sheffield event is being run by the Department of Work & Pensions, Doncaster-based Bobby Singh Associates and Dearne Valley College in Rotherham.
Bobby Singh said: “This is a unique programme that has already proved successful in helping employers find the right people and helping graduates find the right jobs to launch their careers.
“We’ve had graduates getting two or three interview offers out of the events, which means employers are potentially getting the people they need. Some have taken on more than one.”
One employer whose company has benefited is Ian Goodall, managing director of Rotherham recruitment specialist Aardvark Swift.
He said: “We’ve recruited several ambitious young graduates who are now training with us and will hopefully be a great asset to my company.”
Sheffield “Meet the Graduates” is from 10.30am-1pm on Thursday March 26 at Sheffield United FC (directors’ board room) Cherry Street, Sheffield S2 4SU. To book a place, email: firstname.lastname@example.org
