The number of businesses seeking to recruit commercial finance professionals in and around the Sheffield City Region has increased dramatically according to Elevation Recruitment.
Rotherham-based Elevation says demand for people to fill commercial accountancy roles has risen by 40 per cent in the past six months.
Manufacturers planning for growth are among those leading the way when it comes to recruiting accountants, according to the company, which works with businesses across Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.
Elevation Recruitment business manager Andy Bath said: “During the height of the recession and over the last couple of years since, there has been a real lack of opportunity for newly qualified commercial accountants in the South Yorkshire.
“However, we have seen a renewed confidence in the job market for both candidates and employers in recent months, especially for newly qualified accountants or those who have qualified in the past few years.
“The manufacturing industry has shown the most obvious move to begin to upskill and strengthen their finance functions, with a particular focus on sourcing high calibre, commercially focused finance professionals.”
