Manufacturer's cheeky social distancing T-shirts are a hit

A Sheffield fastenings company has raised more than £1,800 for the NHS with T-shirts bearing phrases such as: ‘Oi! Tha’s close enough’.

Gripple initially gave them to staff to promote social distancing but as word went round sales picked up online, with one order worth £1,000 from a firm in Manchester.

The designs were created in-house and supplied and printed by Eldon Screen Print of Sheffield.

A spokeswoman said: “At the start this was an internal exercise and not for charity. However, the fantastic response to the T-shirts on the Gripple social media channels led to making them available to buy online in aid of the NHS.”

A total of £1,818 was raised for local NHS hospitals, she added.
