Coun Fox, the council's deputy leader said: “It’s brilliant to see how the development is coming along. Phase one has been a resounding success and it’s clear to see that the next phases will be just as monumental.

“Urban Splash and Alumno are continuing with something really special here. But it has to also be about strengthening community bounds, and this is why we’ve been working with the developers to ensure local amenities are provided, such as a local shop.

"Such focal points are key to how an area feels, so it is much more than just a place to live."

As part of the second phase, 20,000 sq ft of commercial space will also be available - creating offices and work spaces, as well as a new cafe, restaurant and terrace.

The development is designed by award winning architects Mikhail Riches and many of the new homes will overlook the city centre skyline.

Phase three will see around 350 student bedrooms and four and eight-bedroomed townhouses, two and four-bed apartments and studio apartments.

Coun Sioned-Mair Richards, said: “All the flats are really taking shape and you can envisage how many people are going to make this place their home.

“The mixed nature of the spaces is also really important. As well as a great place to live, Park Hill is a great place to work, be creative, or to just while away some time.

“The council worked hard giving Park Hill its rebirth and with each new development we are seeing this vision becoming more and more of a reality."
