Wraps are coming off a new initiative to bring healthcare organisations and businesses together to develop a strategy to help the sector to grow.
BioMed Sheffield is the brainchild of the Sheffield City Region Local Enterprise Partnership and is due to be launched at the Global Manufacturing Festival in Sheffield next week.
Heading the initiative is Neil Garner, the former senior vice president for medical products at city-based Symmetry Medical Europe, who now heads medical sector consultancy, Neo Garner, and has previously worked for Downs Surgical and 3M Healthcare.
Following its Global Manufacturing Festival launch, BioMed Sheffield’s is planning to get leading players from the local medical sector together for a half-day seminar at the Advanced Manufacturing Park Technology Centre
The seminar will introduce the LEP’s strategy for the sector across the region, which includes setting up collaborative working groups involving local companies and agencies from the health care sector.
