Legal threat to pub screenings

A SHEFFIELD copyright expert has warned local pubs they could be sued for thousands of pounds if they continue to screen Premier League matches using unauthorised foreign decoder cards.

Roisin McCrory of Hlw Keeble Hawson Solicitors says while one court ruled Sky broadcasts could be bypassed, another means screening logos, national anthems and pre-recorded footage infringes copyright.
