Two businesses with links to Yorkshire universities have become the latest tenants of The Gateway business centre, overlooking Park Square in Sheffield.

Quidco.com, which has grown into the UK’s leading cashback website since Paul and Jen Nikkel came up with the idea while studying at Sheffield University, is moving into 3,000 sq ft of offices managed by Evans Easyspace.

Meanwhile, Leeds University is taking 2,000 sq ft of space from Evans, one of the UK’s leading providers of new and managed workspace, for a national pilot-scale environmental research facility, set up by Leeds University’s Faculty of Engineering.

Dominic Butterell, from Quidco.com, said: “We needed a space that we could not only move into quickly at minimal disruption to the business, but also where we could secure offices tailored to our exact requirements.

“We are really happy with the location and facilities of the building. We had a bespoke office fit-out which was well managed and we are delighted with the result. The team at Evans Easyspace ensured our transition was as smooth as possible.”

Evans Easyspace is managing the first floor of The Gateway business centre as well as the bespoke offices on the top three floors of the building, which are fitted out to tenants requirements.

Dr Kris Milkowski, from Leeds University, said: “Evans Easyspace have provided us with high-standard bespoke offices in Sheffield at very short notice.

The offices at The Gateway in Sheffield are in a perfect location for our needs, being close to the city centre and key transport links.”

In addition to designing and fitting out the new offices for the university, Evans Easyspace also arranged for researchers to move in to offices on the first floor of The Gateway, while their fourth- floor offices were set up.

Since its foundation in 2000, Evans Easyspace has built a network of 57 business centres throughout the UK, with more in the pipeline due to demand for affordable, flexible office and workshop space across the country.

Gateway centre manager Kara McLean said: “We’re delighted to welcome our first two tenants who have taken up long-term leases in the bespoke offices we now have available on the upper floors of the premises.”
