SHEFFIELD hotels and conference centres are losing trade due to city’s lack of an airport, the Federation of Small Businesses has claimed.

Gordon Millward, regional chairman of the organisation, which wants the old Sheffield City Airport to be reopened, said: “Organisations are disinclined to hold events in Sheffield when the delegates are internationally-based.”

Mr Millward said flights from Robin Hood Airport are unsuitable for business needs.
