Accountants and business advisers Grant Thornton have raised £3,700 for the Master Cutler Challenge by staging an It’s a Knockout contest involving local businesses and professional services firms.

Nine teams of eight people took part in aid of the challenge, which is raising funds for Cavendish Cancer Care and several small local charities.

Cavendish Cancer Care is an independent charity set up nearly 20 years ago to give free emotional care and support to people affected by cancer in Yorkshire and Derbyshire.

Jonny Cole of the fundraising team at Cavendish Cancer Care said: “The Grant Thornton It’s A Knockout event is exactly what the Master Cutler’s Challenge is all about - the teamwork needed to be successful at It’s a Knockout is exactly the same for Master Cutler Teams.

“Most importantly, everyone had a fantastic time while raising vital funds to support local people affected by a diagnosis of cancer.

“Cavendish Cancer Care is delighted to be supported by Grant Thornton and all the teams that took part - thanks to all those involved.”
