Storage company Store First is opening a new centre in the Dearne Valley, with the prospect of creating jobs.
The Lancashire-based company already operates centres in Burnley and Blackburn and is due to open new branches in Rochdale, Liverpool and Knowsley, too.
Store First operations director Stuart Laverty said: “Barnsley is a thriving town and the new centre is in a fantastic location with great access from the M1 for customers across the region.
“We look forward to bringing plenty of jobs and a significant boost to the area.”
The company says it is looking for more sites throughout Yorkshire.
In addition to providing storage, the company also offers customers boardroom and canteen facilities, free wifi, state-of-the-art security and their own PO box address.
