Institute of Directors appoints new chief

Suzy Brain England has succeeded Kenton Robbins as director of the Yorkshire region of the Institute of Directors.

Ms Brain England is a Chartered Director and became chairman of the Yorkshire IoD in January.

Suzy Brain England runs her own coaching and mentoring company, Cloud Talking. She is chairman of Derwent Living Housing Association and the arms length management organisation for Barnsley Council’s housing, Berneslai Homes.

She also holds a number of high profile directorships in the private and public sectors.

n Real estate solicitor Kate McGoverne has joined the fast-growing business team in the Sheffield office of national law firm Irwin Mitchell.

Ms McGoverne, who joins Irwin Mitchell from Nabarro, acts for public and private sector clients.

Her experience includes all areas of asset management work, with a particular emphasis on acquisitions and disposals of larger property portfolios in the retail sector.
