THE site manager leading the construction of a housing development for older people in Doncaster has been commended in the NHBC’s national Health and Safety Awards.
Tony Barkley of Frank Haslam Milan has received the award for Rokeby Gardens – a retirement complex in Kirk Sandall, Doncaster, for older people’s housing and care specialist Housing 21.
The two-storey complex is made up of 52 two-bedroom apartments, communal lounge and gardens.
The project has also included the demolition and rebuild of the church hall next door.
The NHBC is a standard setting and customer protection body for homes in the UK.
The awards, supported by the Health and Safety Executive, Construction Skills and Constructing Better Health, have received backing from MPs.
