Housebuyers can avoid duty

HOMEBUYERS can still avoid paying stamp duty for another month - if moving into properties on one new development in South Yorkshire.

The Government ended its ‘holiday’ on stamp duty in March but Bovis Homes is offering to cover the tax until the end of June for people moving onto its Woolley Grange Park estate in Barnsley, and Little Wellthorne in Ingbirchwood.

Kevin Wilkins, of Bovis Homes, said: “When the Government’s own extremely successful stamp duty holiday finished in March we picked up the baton and decided to carry it on until the end of June.”

Mr Wilkins added: “Those waiting to make their move should realise they only have a month to complete their home purchase and have stamp duty paid up to £250,000.”
