When Doncaster Royal Infirmary upgraded the protection on doors in its heavily-used medical imaging department, it didn’t have to go any further than the town’s Kelham Industrial Estate.

It is home to family firm Intastop, which specialises in making door and wall protection and has provided products for the infirmary in the past.

The brief was to provide protective impact wrapping to existing and new doors as part of a refurbishment programme.

Intastop marketing director Sarah Barsby said: “As the doors were in areas of heavy traffic they needed to be tremendously hard-wearing and several were also in clinical areas which necessitated the need for easy cleaning. Our Impact Protection Sheet, which is also Class O fire-rated, was particularly suited to this job.”

Paul McGuinness architectural project officer for Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals, said: “The contractors working on the refurbishment used an alternative product to provide protection to doors in this high traffic, medical area.

“However, we were disappointed with the quality of this product and requested that our doors were wrapped in the product provided by local family firm, Intastop. We have commissioned products from its range in previous projects and have always been entirely happy with the quality, service and professionalism of the products and the team.

“Once again, we have been delighted with the service both prior to, during and after production and installation.”
