Houses are set to spring up in Doncaster town centre as the next phase of the new Civic and Cultural Quarter gets under way.
The Gables is the first phase of housing at the £300 million regeneration project which follows on from Doncaster’s new civic offices, Sir Nigel Gresley Square and performance venue Cast.
Specialist housing contractor Lovell has been appointed for the construction of the first 54 new homes.
They are intended as the first high quality modern houses to be built in the town centre in years.
Each home will come with its own car parking, and most will have private gardens.
Councillor Bob Johnson, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Growth, said: “The new phase of residential development is excellent news for Doncaster.
“Not only is the Civic and Cultural Quarter transforming the town centre and helping to deliver jobs and growth, it is all set to become an appealing home address for a new generation of families and home-owners.”
