Harry Gration will be the first person to congratulate winners of a Sheffield Business Award this year - after he was announced as host.
The BBC star will bring his assured presenting skills and warm personality to the glittering event at Ponds Forge on Thursday, December 3.
Harry, aged 65, is a long standing anchor of Look North and was given an MBE in 2013 for services to broadcasting.
The awards evening is also set to feature Britain’s Got Talent finalist Lettice Rowbotham, who wowed Simon Cowell and co with her sublime electric violin skills last year.
Meanwhile, the judges are hard at work deciding a shortlist of the top four in each category.
They will be revealed in a special supplement in The Star on Wednesday, December 2.
The winners in 14 categories will be announced on stage the next day.
This year’s event, sponsored by Elevation Recruitment, is set to attract more than 700 of the region’s movers and shakers and reach tens of thousands of people in print, on social media and on Johnston Press websites.
The categories have been updated this year, with some new names and some offering automatic entry into the British Chambers of Commerce awards - and the chance to bag a national title.
All the winners also go forward to next year’s City Region Awards.
