Two of Sheffield’s fastest growing sporting success stories have created a winning partnership for grassroots football in the region.

QuickPlay have become a partner in the 2016 Youdan Trophy - the new international tournament that has brought some of the biggest teams in the world to compete in the city.

Sheffield-based QuickPlay were originally formed in 2007. William Parsons and Allen Holland graduated with a degree in product design and start working on a new type of football goal. They were joined by Steven Crosby who invested in the company and brought 20 years of business experience to the team.

They now supply high quality sporting products worldwide. Their equipment is sold by retailers including John Lewis, Tesco and Costco. They are one of the most innovative sports equipment manufacturer in the UK.

The Youdan Trophy tournament has quadrupled in size from its 2015 debut and now boasts a string of UK Premiership and Championship clubs including Watford, Birmingham City, Nottingham Forest Stoke City, Derby County, Charlton Athletic, QPR and Middlesbrough.

Clubs from Rosenborg to Everton, Seattle Sounders to FC Basel and Newcastle United to Royal Antwerp have joined top-flight teams from the Middle East, Africa, Europe and the USA - and both Sheffield clubs, United and Wednesday.

* A decision is pending from a legal hearing, held to resolve a dispute over the Youdan Trophy tournament. Sandygate club Hallam FC opposed a bid by You Are The Ref to trademark the name ‘Youdan Trophy Est 1867 Sheffield’, claiming the name infringes its intellectual property rights.
