A Sheffield-based charity is offering younger women grants to help them learn skills for careers that are usually thought of as being only for men.
WEST - Women in Engineering, Science and Technology - has just launched its annual bursaries, and this year it has lowered the age limit to women of 16 and over.
Bursaries of up to a maximum of £500 are for women living in Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire who are studying for jobs and opportunities in science and technology.
They include a range of manual trades from electrical engineering and car mechanics to plumbing and construction.
The deadline for WEST bursaries is Friday, June 27. See www.westskills.org.uk for more information.
