Jose said: “There’s plenty of potential for increasing the opening hours, the town centre is always busy and if someone wanted to target the lunchtime trade that could be very successful.

“It’s a leasehold restaurant, with all the fixtures and fittings, including the authentic wood-burning pizza oven that was brought in from Italy and give the real taste of proper Italian pizza.

“There’s plenty of space – we can seat up to 110 people at a time – and so there’s a great atmosphere when the restaurant is busy.”

The Italian Pizza Oven is housed in the art deco Essoldo Chambers, which have been refurbished in the past couple of years as part of a programme of works to restore historic buildings in Rotherham town centre. Work is ongoing to convert the space above the restaurant into apartments.
