Jose Lopez knows a thing or two about how successful this recipe can be, having run The Italian Pizza Oven in Rotherham’s High Street for the past 32 years.

Now Jose is moving on and the opportunity to take over the prosperous business – housed in one of the town centre’s most attractive buildings – is available to someone with a similar passion for Italian cooking and lifestyle.

The Italian Pizza Oven is a busy restaurant despite only opening in the evening. Potential to provide a lunchtime option for Rotherham’s town centre workers is certainly an option, improving on the good turnover the restaurant already offers, and the spacious interior has scope for everything from large private parties to intimate meals for two.

Jose said: “There’s plenty of potential for increasing the opening hours, the town centre is always busy and if someone wanted to target the lunchtime trade that could be very successful.

“It’s a leasehold restaurant, with all the fixtures and fittings, including the authentic wood-burning pizza oven that was brought in from Italy and give the real taste of proper Italian pizza.

“There’s plenty of space – we can seat up to 110 people at a time – and so there’s a great atmosphere when the restaurant is busy.”

The Italian Pizza Oven is housed in the art deco Essoldo Chambers, which have been refurbished in the past couple of years as part of a programme of works to restore historic buildings in Rotherham town centre. Work is ongoing to convert the space above the restaurant into apartments.

Further details about the restaurant are available through Leeds-based agents Ernest Wilson & Co. Established in 1956, Ernest Wilson & Co assists clients with the purchase and sale of businesses, offering agency services, finance options and support throughout the sale process.
