European patent and trade mark attorneys in Sheffield are urging companies to take advantage of government funding to help them protect their Intellectual Property.

Richard Ellis from the Sheffield office of Swindell & Pearson, says the UK Intellectual Property Office is offering companies that have been successful in any Technology Strategy Board competitions, the opportunity to apply for funding of up to £3,000 towards the cost of an Intellectual Property audit and is considering extending the scheme to other companies.

Mr Ellis says commissioning an Intellectual Property audit is well worth the investment and helps companies to develop a clear strategy for protecting current and future IP as well as providing peace of mind.
