Ever wondered what former Sheffield City Council leader Paul Scriven did next after being ushered upstairs to the House of Lords?
Eight months ago Baron Scriven launched a company making apps for small businesses. And as managing director of Apps2Connect, he was manning a stand at yesterday’s SheffEx trade show at Ponds Forge sports centre in Sheffield.
He said: “I do two to three days in the Lords and two to three days on the business. It’s grown beyond expectations, I just seem to have hit on the right time for apps.” A sole trader, he employs eight freelance developers in the UK, he said. He also still acts as a consultant in public sector reform in the Far East.
