BUS passengers are pretty satisfied with the quality of services and facilities, according to research.
Watchdog Passenger Focus asked people using buses across South Yorkshire for their views in its Bus Passenger Satisfaction Survey.
Satisfaction with bus stop facilities was found to be among the highest in the country, at 75 per cent, and the county’s largest operator, First, was told 83 per cent of its passengers were satisfied with their last journey.
The research also found 94 per cent of people in South Yorkshire said they are able to board the first bus that comes along and 96 per cent are able to get a seat.
Work and shopping were the two biggest reasons people said they catch the bus.
David Brown, director general of South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive which oversees the county’s bus services, said: “These figures are extremely encouraging.”
