Property regeneration company Harworth Estates has secured planning consent for what it believes is the first speculative industrial development in Yorkshire for six years.
The development, called ‘R-evolution @ The AMP’, will offer a range of units from 10,000 sq ft to 30,000 sq ft on seven acres of land at the Advanced Manufacturing Park, which forms part of Harworth’s Waverley site.
Harworth Estates chief executive Owen Michaelson said: “We are delighted to have received support from Rotherham Council, whom we intend to provide with a high-quality business estate.
“We are confident that this development will meet increasing market demand in a region where the availability of equivalent quality stock is reducing.”
Following the approval, Harworth and Rotherham Council are now discussing the potential for securing a funding package for the project.
Rotherham Investment & Development Office business development manager Tim O’Connell, said: “The R-evolution project will further enhance the reputation of the AMP.”
