Family dairy company expands in Sheffield bringing more new jobs

The family business, which specialises in doorstep milk deliveries, was founded in 1995 by company chairman Mick McQueen and his wife Meg and now operates 12 distribution depots in the north of England and Scotland and employs 700 members of staff including the couple’s five children who hold senior positions within the business.
The new depot in Atlas North Industrial Estate will initially employ 15 staff to serve customers living in Sheffield and across South Yorkshire with that number expected to double during 2021.

Hide AdRussell Chalkley, logistics site manager at McQueens Dairies said: “Our new Sheffield distribution centre is our seventh in the north of England and will join our other busy depots delivering fresh milk direct to customers’ doorsteps.
“We have already created 15 new jobs at this new depot and we are looking to double that in the next twelve months to accommodate the growth we expect in this year. As well as delivering in Sheffield we’ll also be delivering across South Yorkshire including Barnsley, Doncaster, Worksop and across to Gainsborough as well as south to Chesterfield.”
McQueens Dairies Ltd has distribution depots in Mansfield, Bradford, Warrington, Preston, Stockton on Tees, Glasgow, Edinburgh, East Kilbride, Kirkcaldy and Galashiels, and recently opened another new depot in Carlisle.
The company, which also delivers orange and apple juices, fresh eggs and alternative milk products, recently launched www.mcqueensdairies.co.uk designed to give customers direct control of their orders and to allow them to make changes in advance, and to pay directly.
