Gallery - Maison and Sage: Exclusive Sheffield members club opens restaurant to public
The restaurant, bar and stage will open on the ground floor of The Mulberry Club
A restaurant and live music venue is set to open inside one of Sheffield city centre’s most elusive private members’ clubs, giving non-members a chance to step inside the restored former banking hall.
Gallery - Maison and Stage will open on Wednesday, October 28, on the ground floor of The Mulberry Club on George Street, opposite what used to be Curzon cinema.

The Mulberry Club opened in July, but little is publicly known about the venue, which operates a strict no-photography and video policy throughout the building.
The private members’ club is based in the former Midland Bank, a Grade II-listed building which was most recently used by the NSPCC before being left empty in 2021.
Gallery will offer a rare opportunity for non-members to visit part of the building, with the restaurant, bar and live music space open to the public by advance reservation.
The rooms beyond the restaurant will remain private to club members.
A spokesperson for the venue said: “For the past year, we've been carefully restoring one of Sheffield's most beautiful old banking halls. Once home to Midland Bank, the room has been given a new lease of life, with high ceilings, linen-dressed tables, intimate lighting and a stage that will soon welcome some wonderful musicians.
“It's a rather special room, and we're looking forward to seeing it full of people again.”

Gallery will serve brunch from 10am and supper from 5pm, with a seasonal menu and a wine list overseen by an in-house sommelier.
Live music will take place every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday evening, with a changing programme of jazz, soul, blues, bossa nova and acoustic performances.
The venue said the music would complement the dining experience: “We've been quite particular about how music should work in the room. It should complement the conversation, not compete with it,” said the spokesperson.
Despite opening to non-members, Gallery will maintain several of the rules associated with the wider club. It is strictly for those aged 21 and over, and all guests must show photographic identification on arrival.
Advance reservations are required for non-members, while walk-in access is reserved for club members. There are no admission charges.
A dress code also applies, asking guests to wear smart, considered attire rather than formal clothing.
Photography and video are prohibited throughout the building, with the club asking visitors to respect the privacy of other guests.
Gallery is also planning a series of festive events, including live music throughout Christmas Eve, a Boxing Day champagne brunch and a New Year’s Eve dinner with live performances and a DJ, with celebrations planned until 2am.
Reservations are now open for the restaurant’s opening on October 28.
