Entries rolling in for awards competition

Williams Brothers, the Sheffield-based fastener manufacturer, and transport company Clipper Logistics, have topped the entries in this year's Rotherham Business Awards.

Williams, which has gone from strength to strength following a management buy-out two years ago at the 137-year-old company, has been nominated for awards in four categories – Customer Service, Invest in Skills, Excellence in Business and Employee of the Year.

Clipper, which has operations at Hellaby, manages Meadowhall Shopping Centre's award-winning Accelerated Response Centre and earlier this year entered into a pioneering carbon emissions agreement with the government-backed Carbon Trust, has also secured four nominations.

Like Williams it has been nominated for Customer Service, Invest in Skills and Excellence in Business awards. Clipper is also in the running for a Business Growth Award.

Ant Marketing, the Sheffield-based tele-marketing specialist, which has a Customer Service Award nomination, also has two nominations in the Employee of the Year category.

Rotherham Business Awards are organised by Rotherham Chamber of Commerce and will be presented at an awards dinner at Magna on Friday October 12, compred by the BBC’s Harry Gration.
