A GERMAN engineering and installation group has plans to create up to 20 jobs after moving into a warehouse and office in Rotherham - its first permanent base in the UK.

Moller Group will run its refractory maintenance operation from Eastwood Industrial Estate, chosen for its proximity to clients in the industrial heart of the country.

Klaus Roepke, CEO of the Moller Group, said he wanted to move into manufacturing precast refractory shapes for the cement, lime, biomass, sugar and particle board industries, creating up to 20 jobs.

He added: “It is our intention to become the leading company in the refractory market in the UK in the next five years.

“Moller UK offers an “all inclusive” service which is not regular in the refractory market.

“The Moller Group, which is still a family owned company, is always looking to built up long term partnerships - on the one hand with clients, but also with suppliers and partners.

“That is the basis for the success and the 50 years of experience we have in Germany.”

Initially, seven people will be based in Rotherham.

Job applications are invited from people with a background in the refractory or construction industry, particularly people with bricklaying, carpentry, welding and onsite skills.
