Motorists are being warned of delays due to emergency roadworks on a leaking gas main.

The repairs are taking place on the B6090 Kilnhurst Road at Hooton Roberts, Rotherham.

A Rotherham Council spokeswoman said: “Temporary 24 hour two-way traffic signals will be in operation during the duration of the works, which are expected to last until next Tuesday.

“Between 7.30am and 9.30 am and 3pm and 6 pm each day National Grid Gas have been advised to manually control the lights to reduce the chance of traffic build-up.”

In Sheffield, there will be temporary traffic lights on Brunswick Road, near the junction with Andover Street, Pitsmoor, for installation of electric cables.

The roadworks started yesterday and take place daily until May 28.
