TRAINEE lawyer Carl Jones, from DLA Piper’s Sheffield office, has become the eighth successive young lawyer from the firm to win the Sidney Herbert-Clay prize for achieving the highest marks on the Legal Practice Course at Sheffield University.

Mr Jones is currently working with the firm’s insurance team and received his award at the annual Sheffield Law Society Award Dinner.

Partner Duncan Mosley leads the trainee programme at DLA Piper’s Sheffield office. He said: “The University produces some exceptional young lawyers and by investing in them, we are investing into the city’s legal offering as well as the future of our firm in the region.

“We have retained all eight of our 2010/11 trainees as qualified lawyers, whilst welcoming a further eight, including Carl, who have now started their training contracts with us. ”
