Even though times are still uncertain for the hospitality industry right now, what with the continued cost of living crisis, it hasn’t stopped the plans of new restaurants and bars in Sheffield.
This year we’re gearing up for some great new openings in our city, and Sheffield Council’s Heart of the City project is set to work some magic this year, with several new venues planned to open after some months of setbacks.

5. Radisson Blu Hotel
The new Radisson Blu hotel, on Pinstone Street, in Sheffield city centre, is expected to open early this year. Developers said it will include a ‘high-end’ rooftop bar and restaurant with ‘stunning views’ over the city. Photo: Robert Cumber
6. Gatsby
Gatsby, a popular bar on Division Street, closed its doors for good on New Year's Eve. However, hints were made by the team behind the venue, which is owned by Rockingham Group, for new plans this year. In a parting note, the team wrote on social media: "We’ll see you on the other side." Photo: Google
7. Cambridge Street Collective
Sheffield’s largest food hall, Cambridge Street Collective, is set to open in April 2024. The venue will feature dozens of kitchens over three floors, and a rooftop bar. It was originally due to open in late 2022, but within the next few months it will join the likes of Kommune and Cutlery Works as it serves residents and visitors to Sheffield.
8. Bethel Chapel
Bethel Chapel is part of the city council's Heart of the City II project, as is Cambridge Street Collective, and Radisson Blu hotel. While the main purpose of Bethel Chapel, on Cambridge Street, will be a live music and entertainment venue, the first floor will also feature a bar and a cafe area, and the top floor will have a roof terrace.
