Eager househunters snap up apartments

LUXURY apartments at a new development in South Yorkshire have been snapped up - at a rate of almost one a day.

Quest Property and Landmark Development Projects, developers of Gateway Plaza, in Barnsley town centre, said 28 of the flats have been sold in the last month.

The company is now offering to pay the administration fees for people who sign up to rent an apartment at Gateway Plaza before the end of May 2011.

Danielle Cooper, of the lettings team, said: “The marketing suite has been busy on a daily basis with people calling in to find out more about life at Gateway Plaza.

“Once people have seen the extremely high quality of finish and fittings to the apartments, all of which are fully furnished to the best specification, they have been really keen to sign-up.

“The beauty of the scheme is its appeal to such a wide variety of people.

“We have a great mix of tenants here from doctors, teachers, sports people and students to retired couples who are looking for a more manageable way of living.

“Around 100 of the 188 apartments were sold off-plan before development even began.

“Since completion, both sales and lettings have been continual.

“The extra incentive which is running between now and the end of May is already proving to be an attractive offer for househunters.

“We currently have only around 40 apartments, ranging from studios to 1 and 2 beds, available for occupancy.”

Gateway Plaza also includes an NHS Health Centre, a 110-bed Premier Inn hotel, Table Table restaurant and Glass House pub.

The development also includes a deal with Barnsley Council at the end of last year, which resulted in the authority fully occupying the offices built as part of the scheme.
