THE first new mini tourist information centre to be located in a Peak District pub has been unveiled.

The Wheatsheaf, at Baslow, is hosting a Visitor Information Point as part of a pilot scheme which could be extended across the park.

Pub customers will be able to pick up leaflets and brochures on what there is to see and do in the Peak District during their visit to the venue.

The cost is being covered by the British Beer and Pub Association. Participating pubs will receive a specially designed brochure dispenser which will be regularly filled and updated, free of charge, with a range of local tourism leaflets.

Participating pubs will also be promoted by Visit Peak District and Derbyshire.
