Staff who look after Doncaster’s council housing stock have been praised by the Government for their customer service.

St Leger Homes has achieved the Government Standard accreditation for Customer Service Excellence for the third consecutive year.

The standard is awarded to public service organisations which meet criteria demonstrating that they focus on the needs and preferences of their customers.

An independent assessor inspects a range of services and activities each year to confirm whether the organisation can retain its accreditation.

In its recent assessment report St Leger Homes was praised for providing comprehensive support to tenants who are likely to be affected by changes to welfare benefits.

The assessor also commented on the politeness of staff and their clear understanding of tenants’ needs.

Chief executive of St Leger Homes, Susan Jordan said: “Delivering excellent customer service is a priority for everyone within the organisation. I am delighted that the hard work of our staff has been recognised once again through this independent assessment.”

St Leger Homes was set up by Doncaster Council in 2005.
