The Now Then magazine and app have become a staple for Steel city shoppers and independent businesses alike - which is why they are teaming with Opus Independents to help traders get through the economic effects of Coronavirus.

Natalie Burton, Sales and Partnerships manager at Opus Independents said: “We're offering our marketing services on the Now Then App for free or on a pay-as-you-feel basis to independent businesses in Sheffield.

“It has quickly become clear to us how significant the impact of COVID-19 could be on Sheffield's independent traders.”

The free or pay-as-you-feel service can help traders send updates to their customers, such as changes to opening times and precautions they are taking against the virus.

“We recognise that independent businesses are particularly vulnerable to the economic shock of this crisis for a number of reasons. They are less likely to have the financial reserves to survive the unpredictable times ahead, and with smaller staff teams they will inevitably struggle to cope with covering staff sickness.

“We know they generally have small marketing budgets which are likely to be the first thing to be cut in a situation like this.”
