The Sheffield Survival Box has been set up by Heist Brew Co, and will offer a curated selection of items from local companies that have all felt the effect of the Government's strict lockdown restrictions.

Boxes can be ordered via a dedicated website; they will contain beer, gin, chocolate, snacks, tea, coffee and more, from names such as the Abbeydale, St Mars of the Desert and Triple Point breweries, Bullion Chocolate, Yorkshire Crisps, Henderson's Relish, Sir Robin of Locksley gin and SMO:FO smoked food.

People can suggest other independents they would like to see in future boxes, and customers will be given the option of making a donation to the Sheffield Hospitals Charity as part of their order.

Heist director Adam France said: “The Sheffield independent community has always been one that has inspired us, collaboration plays a huge part in each of our lives, and we wanted to collate the best Sheffield has to offer in a box delivered direct to your door.

“We have teamed up with friends in the industry, independent breweries, distilleries, artists and food producers to bring you different survival boxes that you can enjoy at home.”

Heist has been forced to delay its opening in Sheffield. It is moving from Clowne, in Derbyshire, to a former machine works on Neepsend Lane, close to the Cutlery Works food hall and the Gardeners Rest pub.

Interactive tours, tastings and events were planned to start in August in two large bar areas with 30 craft beer lines offering different varieties of ale, and burgers served by a specially-appointed vendor.

However, the Covid-19 pandemic means Heist will likely be opening at the end of 2020 at the earliest. Its bosses have been buying unsold stock from local bars and breweries such as Church and Boozehound – Heist has also donated more than £600 to the NHS with takings from an auction and has joined a global brewery campaign called All Together.

The survival box website – www.sheffieldsurvivalbox.com – was set to go live at 7pm on May 6.
