The Wick At Both Ends in Sheffield city centre, will welcome back customers on July 4 – as pubs, bars and restaurants are set to open up again as the government enters the next phase of lockdown easing.

It comes as the government revealed the hospitality industry can reopen again from Saturday, July 4 as the number of coronavirus infection cases continues to decrease and the country seeks to return to the ‘new normal’.

The bar was purchased on a freehold basis from property company Nicholson & Co – but new managers Emerald Late Bars and Restaurants, say they want to keep The Wick as the ‘successful business it is’ but help it become ‘bigger and better’.

The popular city centre joint, which is known for its extensive cocktail menu, have announced their reopening plans will include a table service app to help staff and customers socially distance, hand sanitiser stations and a limited number of visitors.

Customers can return to the well-known drinking spot from on Saturday, where they can order drinks to their spaced out, one metre apart tables via a new ordering app.

Managing Director of Emerald Late Bars and Restaurants, Nathan Joseph explained what customers can expect when they return.

"It won't be jam packed like The Wick usually is”, he said.

"Everybody in Sheffield seems to know The Wick anyway, it seems to be quite a successful business as is.

"We're going in and basically just giving it a refresh, repaint and make it look a bit nicer.
