The Moor Market in the city centre has been closed since March 28, though many of its retailers have continued trading online throughout the lockdown.

One of its traders, Beer Central, has now announced the market plans to open its doors again on Monday, June 15 – the date from which non-essential retailers are allowed to reopen.

Beer Central tweeted: “We have a meeting with the market and Sheffield Council next week to discuss re-opening safely and in line with all required COVID-19 safety measures. It's gonna be a challenge, but we're excited!”

Sheffield Council has already announced the outdoor market on The Moor is due to reopen on Monday, June 8, but has yet to confirm a reopening date for its indoor markets on The Moor and at Crystal Peaks.
