Vue is reopening 10 of its cinemas, with one of the first in South Yorkshire

The Vue in Doncaster is on the list of cinemas that will be part of the first phase of reopenings.

The newly-reopened cinemas will be showing a variety of past releases to entice customers through the door, including the Harry Potter films, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, Batmin Begins, Inception and Dunkirk.

Other Vue cinemas reopening on August 7 include Oxford, Manchester, Farnborough, Edinburgh, Bromley and Shepherd's Bush.

Toby Bradon, territory general manager of Vue Entertainment in the UK, said to PA: "Behind the scenes, we've been working hard to develop safety protocols in line with Government guidelines and informed by our recently reopened cinemas across Europe.

"The safety of those who work and visit our sites is paramount and we've therefore taken the time to ensure protocols and staff training are in line with the latest guidance ahead of opening."

Tickets are due to go on sale ahead of the first reopenings, with advance online bookings being encouraged to enable social distancing by limiting the likelihood of queues.

Vue has also said that it has enhanced its cleaning regime to ensure people are safe when they visit the cinemas.

Like in other cinemas that have reopened, film screenings will be staggered to limit the number of people in the corridors and entrance area.

It is not yet known when the Vue in Meadowhall will reopen.
