International fashion chain Urban Outfitters to open shop in Sheffield city centre
“It is great to see the momentum surrounding our Heart of the City project”
An international fashion chain is opening a shop in Sheffield city centre.
Urban Outfitters has confirmed it will take the old Weekday shop on Pinstone Street.
The unit is in the retail section of the city council’s £470m Heart of the City scheme.

It will be next to the new Superdry fashion store, in the old Monki shop, which opened earlier this month.
Weekday and Monki closed in June last year. Superdry has a shop in Meadowhall which closed earlier this year.
Coun Alexi Dimond, chair of the transport, regeneration and climate policy committee at Sheffield City Council, said: “It is great to see the momentum surrounding our Heart of the City project shows no signs of slowing down, as we see another retailer secured to move into the development.
“This builds on recent openings to increase the retail offer in Heart of the City. Our aim was to transform and regenerate the area of the city centre, bringing people back into Sheffield and we’ve done just that, the city centre is a fantastic place for people to live, work and enjoy.”
US-owned Urban Outfitters already has an outlet on The Avenue at Meadowhall.
