Popular Sheffield pub ready to re-open a day after temporary closure

A popular Sheffield pub is set to re-open tonight, after beer supply problems were sorted.

The Victoria, a well known local on Gleadless Road, Heeley, had to close temporarily yesterday - but will be back serving again this evening, bosses have confirmed

They said yesterday that it was unable to open because of problems in the cellar, and that it will open again as soon as it can.

And this evening, they have confirmed they are ready to open up again.

They said in a statement on their social media pages: “Well here we go again - we can gladly announce the reopening of The Victoria, all works now complete ,the doors will be open from 5pm today. See you soon.” Last night they had said: “We at The Victoria regret to inform you that due to a complete failure in the cellar we are unable to pull any alcohol through the lines and are therefore unable to open.

“We are working to rectify this and we will reopen as soon as the work is complete, keep your eyes open for our reopening time and day.”

The Victoria is one of Sheffield’s most distinctive pubs, with Its round end on the junction with Farish Place.

In the past it has also been known as the Roundhouse.
