‘Such sad news’: Owners confirm Sheffield pub ‘boarded up for forseeable future’

From tomorrow, The New Bridge Inn on Penistone Road North will be boarded up ‘for the foreseeable future’.

The news was confirmed in a post on the popular pub’s Facebook page.

The outgoing landlords said they enjoyed their time at the pub, wished their customers ‘all the very best’ and urged everyone to ‘keep safe’.

Hundreds of people commented on the post.

Vinny O’Grady said: “I’m so sorry to hear this – I can’t believe it.

“Good luck for the future.”

Marcia Wilson-ford added: “Such a shame!

“We've enjoyed many times there.”

The pub is now on the market on www.findmypub.com.

Pubs have been closed since Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced a full lockdown amid the coronavirus crisis back in March.
