Sheffield's markets reveal reopening date and what safety measures will be in place

Sheffield’s indoor markets will reopen on Monday, June 15, it has been confirmed.

The Moor Market in Sheffield city centre and the market at Crystal Peaks have been closed since shortly after the lockdown began in March.

But both are due to open their doors again on the day lockdown restrictions are eased to allow non-essential retailers to welcome back customers.

Sheffield Markets said they were being deep cleaned ahead of reopening.

“We have installed hand sanitizers at the entrance and exit and around the markets,” it added.

“Please help us prevent the spread of the virus by keeping two metres apart. We are looking forward to everyone coming back!”

The Moor Market will open from Monday to Saturday, between 8am and 5.30pm each day.

The market at Crystal Peaks will be open from 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday and from 10am to 4pm on Sundays.

The outdoor market on The Moor opened on Monday, June 8.
