Sheffield shopping: Popular card and gift shop Cardzone closing in blow to city centre retail

A popular card and gift shop on Sheffield’s main shopping street is closing - the fourth there this autumn.

Posters in the window at Cardzone on The Moor state it is closing, there are 20 per cent discounts and ‘everything must go’.

It is the fourth shop in a row to announce closure near the entrance to The Moor Market.

Claire’s accessories closed earlier this month, Bodycare in September and The Entertainer toy shop in October.

Cardzone was established in 2005 by managing director, Paul Taylor, who has grown the estate from one store in Sheffield to more than 175 today.

Brands include Cardzone, MOOCH, Paper Kisses, Hallmark, Yankee Candle and Card Centre.

There are Cardzone shops in Meadowhall and Crystal Peaks shopping centres.
