Sheffield shoppers queue outside Primark as non-essential shops reopen
Shoppers flocked to Primark in Sheffield city centre this morning after the coronavirus lockdown restrictions were eased.
Non-essential stores in the city have been allowed to reopen in time for Christmas shopping after being forced to shut for one month – and many people wasted no time when their doors opened first thing.
Queues quickly formed outside Primark on The Moor with a one in, out out system in place.
The Meadowhall store will be open for a full 40 hours from 7am today (2 December) through until the closing time of 11pm tomorrow.
Primark chief executive Paul Marchant said: “We are delighted to re-open our stores in England on 2 December, with longer shopping hours to give our customers more time to safely do their festive shopping.
"We have everything this season that our customers expect from Primark, including our famous Christmas jumpers, festive pyjamas and much, much more."
