Sheffield restaurant popular for its 'all-day menu' due to reopen this week

An all-day restaurant in one of Sheffield city centre’s most prominent spots has named its reopening date.

Bill’s, on Norfolk Street next to the Peace Gardens, will be admitting customers again from July 31.

The business has already reopened 35 of its restaurants as lockdown measures have been relaxed. Sheffield is part of the next wave, and diners can book reservations immediately.

Health and safety measures for customers will include thermal cameras for temperature checks on arrival and new seating arrangements, in line with Government social distancing rules.

All surfaces will be freshly cleaned before and after each use, and professional deep cleaning and disinfecting of the restaurant will take place on a daily basis.

New shift patterns have been drawn up for staff, and ‘tracking software’ will be used to log temperature readings.

Baton Berisha, managing director of Bill’s, said: “Myself and the team are excited to open our doors once again in Sheffield. We have received many positive messages from guests and have worked tirelessly to ensure we can create a fantastic experience for all, whilst being safe in the knowledge that we have taken every precaution for the safety of our diners and employees.”

Bill’s was founded by greengrocer Bill Collison 20 years ago. Earlier this year Collison, who is still involved, said the restaurants were ‘a sort of anti-chain’, adding: “One of our biggest competitive advantages is that we're very strong on breakfast, brunch and lunch.”
