This comes as the Government has announced that the earliest date on which hotels can reopen would be July 4 ‘at the very earliest’, and has instructed accommodation businesses to remain closed while other non-essential shops and services reopen on June 15.

easyHotel has announced that its hotels will reopen on a location-by-location basis, and that strict safety measures will be in place to protect guests.

A statement from the company said: “The brand’s hotels across the UK will begin opening depending on location from July.

easyHotel is already safely operating a number of its hotels in line with public health guidance throughout Continental Europe and Middle East.

It has plans to reopen its Nice branch on June 24, and its Barcelona hotel on July 1.

Francois Bachetta, CEO of easyHotel, said: “It is fantastic that we are set to reopen and begin welcoming back guests in the coming weeks. Since closing our entire estate back in March, we have been working hard behind the scenes to prepare for reopening our hotels in a way that puts health and safety

first in these unusual times.”

easyHotel says that social distancing measures will be closely followed when it does reopen branches. These include digital check in, limiting access to public areas, and the regular disinfecting and thorough cleaning of rooms.
