New shop lined up for high profile Sheffield city centre retail area
When a new outlet is set to open in a busy Sheffield shopping area
Plans for another shop opening in the heart of Sheffield city centre have been announced.
The store, called In the Making, is lined up to fill what was once the Blue Banana store, in Orchard Square, with the new store set to sell locally produced products.

The shop is being opened up by mum and daughter Lindsey and Ellie Stephens, and friend Anita Watkinson.
They said on their social media postings: “A gift shop packed with over 100 incredible independent makers, all under one roof!
“Think amazing handmade gifts, art, jewellery, homeware, food, candles, prints and loads more goodness from small businesses we absolutely love!”
They added: “We’re a small (and slightly chaotic) bunch of Sheffield creatives who just wanted to make a proper home for makers, full of colour, creativity and community.
“Between us, we’ve done a bit of everything, from design and illustration to running small businesses, markets and events. We’ve seen just how much amazing talent there is around here and wanted to bring it all together under one roof. We’re here to champion independent makers.”
Lindsey told The Star they would have a shelf of items for each of 105 makers.

She added they were pleased to have a prominent city centre location for what will the first shop that the three of them have run.
The shop is due to open on May 2, and the names of some of the people and organisations who will be supplying the site have also been described by the business ahead of opening.
They will include a number of well known Sheffield and South Yorkshire artists, including Luke Horton and Helen Drake, as well as knitwear producers, jewellery makers, candle makers and jam makers.
