Rafters, on Oakbrook Road in Nether Green, has launched a new service called ‘Rafters at Home’, with the tagline: ‘Prepared by us, cooked by you’.

The weekly package consists of a three-course dinner assembled by chef patron Tom Lawson, which customers can cook and finish themselves.

Fifty meals will be available on a ‘first come, first booked’ basis, and a drinks pairing menu is also available.

“We will provide full and concise instruction on how to make it easy,” the neighbourhood bistro says.

“Why not have a virtual dinner party with friends?”

The menu for this Saturday costs £40 per person. Beginning with Rafters’ bread with Henderson's Relish butter, the courses include salmon cured in the restaurant’s own gin, Moss Valley pork belly cooked for 72 hours, Yorkshire Mess – a spin on Eton Mess with rhubarb, meringue and Nevado white chocolate – and coffee with sweet woodruff and milk chocolate fudge.

To round things off Rafters is including its granola, made with Sheffield Honey, for breakfast the next day.

As well as Henderson's, Moss Valley Meats and the honey company, other local firms that have supplied ingredients for the service are Our Cow Molly, GW Price fruit and vegetables, Andrew’s Butchery, MSK Ingredients, Sheffield Catering Supplies, Locksley Distillery, Priory Vodka, upmarket off licence StarmoreBoss and coffee specialist Cafeology.

“Due to current limitations we are unable to offer any alterations to our menu,” the restaurant says.

“Collection will be from the restaurant on Saturday morning – we cannot offer delivery.”

The drinks and wine pairing menu costs £15 per person and has been put together by certified sommelier Alistair Myers, who co-owns Rafters with Tom Lawson.
