Under the relaxed Government coronavirus lockdown rules restaurants are allowed to reopen on July 4, as long as social distancing measures can be implemented.

While many eateries have been offering a take home service, shoppers will now have the chance to dine-in at restaurants including Chao Baby, Five Guys and Harvester, and more brands are set to join them in the coming weeks.

Safety measures will be implemented at a variety of food outlets in the Meadowhall dining area to ensure social distancing is possible.

Two new concierge desks have been installed on both levels of the Dining Quarter, with a team ready and waiting to help diners to quickly and easily find out which eateries are open and have availability.

To help everyone keep a safe distance while queuing, the Meadowhall team will be asking visitors to queue in designated colour-coded zones, depending on the restaurant they’ve selected.

Some, but not all, of the seating in the Lower Oasis Dining Quarter and on the upper mezzanine will be available for diners, as well as outdoor seating in the Oasis Dining Quarter Courtyard.

To support social distancing, tables will be available for groups of up to four people.

Darren Pearce, Centre Director at Meadowhall, said: “We’re excited to move into the next phase of our reopening. We know that many of our restaurants are hugely popular with local shoppers and so will be a welcome return to our centre.

“Our new concierge desks are designed to help us ensure that everyone has a safe and enjoyable dining experience with us. We kindly ask all visitors to keep an eye out for signage and wherever possible, book in advance and use contactless payment methods.”

To help visitors plan ahead, Meadowhall is keeping its website up to date with opening times, and tips on the best car parks and entrances to use to get to your favourite restaurant.
