Meadowhall set to unveil new JD Sports 'megastore' today with help of DJ and guest appearances

A new JD Sports store is set to open at Meadowhall later today.
Located on the Lower Level of the High Street, the new store spans 29,225 sq ft – almost triple its former size – and will offer JD’s most-popular clothing, footwear and sportswear brands including Nike, Montirex, New Balance, Berghaus, Adidas and Unlike Humans.
The company has promised the appearance of two ‘well-known faces’ at the unveiling, as well as a live DJ and fruit machine.
Customers will also have the chance of winning £500 to spend in store, with shoppers encouraged to keep an eye out for the competition post on Meadowhall’s social media.
James Air, director of group real estate and acquisitions at JD, said: " We're proud to be expanding our presence in Sheffield and feel we’ve created something really special at Meadowhall - a proper megastore experience where customers can explore the very best in sports, fashion and lifestyle brands all under one roof.
“It's a bigger, better JD and we're so excited to finally be welcoming shoppers through the doors this week."
Darren Pearce, centre director at Meadowhall, said: “JD is already one of our most popular brands, and to be able to bring a store of this scale here to Meadowhall is a real landmark moment for us.
